Last Thursday I was lucky enough to have been able to attend opening of the first Manchester City Co photography exhibition in the Triangle, Manchester.

This is a free exhibition running from the 9th to the 29th July and is the result of a day of amateur photographers taking to the streets of Manchester earlier this year armed with their Nikons and ideas. The Exhibition features 28 images chosen from 300 that were submitted by 100 photographers. Each has shown Manchester in their own unique way, from the city’s architecture to its people.

Undefeated by Paul Sherriff

The night was made even more special by seeing my dad, Paul Sherriff’s work up at the exhibition. His photograph, Undefeated, was a definite stand out piece on the night and has even been featured in local newspapers Manchester Evening News and Wigan Observer.

My other favourite images of the evening where from photographers Tony Milner and Dan Sleater who I felt captured the quirkiness of the City.

The exhibition is open between 10am and 6pm 7 days at week on the basement level of the Triangle. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area! If you would like to take part in the next photography day with the chance to have your own work featured in the next exhibition, see here for more information.
